Enrico Schiavone was born in Prato (Italy) on January 1989.

Education and Training

Enrico received the Bachelor's degree and the Master's degree (cum laude) in Computer Science from the University of Firenze in December 2012 and April 2015, respectively.

Since November 2015 he is a Ph.D. student of the Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics course (curriculum: Computer Science) at the same university, under the supervision of Prof. Andrea Bondavalli, Dott. Andrea Ceccarelli and co-supervised by Prof. Adriadne M.B.R. Carvalho from University of Campinas (Brazil).

He was visiting student at the University of Campinas in 2015 and 2016 for an overall period of six months.

PhD Schools and relevant courses attended:

-Winter PhD School: Securing Critical Infrastructures, Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy), 17-21 January 2016.

-PhD Course on Aspects of Distributed and Real-time Computing, Prof. Dr. Edgar Nett (from University of Magdeburg, Germany), Florence, March 2016.

-Tutorial on Reliability and Availability Modeling in Practice, Prof. K. Trivedi (Duke University, USA) and Prof. A. Bobbio (Universita del Piemonte Orientale, Italy) at IEEE DSN 2016 Conference, July 2016.

-Tutorial on Design of Experiments for Dependability Assessment and Benchmarking, Prof. H. Madeira (University of Coimbra, Portugal) at LADC 2016 Conference, October 2016.

-DISC Summer School A Systems and Control Perspective on Privacy, Safety and Security in Large-Scale Cyber-Physical Systems, The Hague, Holland, July 2017.

Research Activity

His current research interests include the design, implementation and assessment of dependable and secure systems, with a present focus on continuous authentication, non-repudiation, biometrics and blockchain technology.

Research Projects

He is currently involved in the European funded project FP7-PEOPLE-2013-IRSES DEVASSES - DEsign, Verification and VAlidation of large scale, dynamic Service SystEmS, and in the TOSCA-FI project.

He previously participated to the Regional Project POR-CREO 2007-2013 SECURE!.

Peer Reviewing

He is Program Committee Member of AINA 2018.

He was reviewer for journals as Springer Quality and User Experience and Elsevier Journal of Systems and Software in 2017, and Technical Program Committee Member of ISDDC 2017.

He also served as secondary reviewer for DSN - The Annual IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems And Networks - in 2016 and 2017, and for IFIP SEC - The International Conference on ICT Systems Security and Privacy Protection - in 2017.

Other Past Activities

From March 2015 to March 2016 he was a tutor for the Bachelor's course in Computer Science at the University of Firenze. The goal of the project was to help and support the first-year students in order to reduce their dispersion and simplify their relationships with professors.

From January 2014 to March 2015 he was owner of a research collaboration employment (Co.Co.Co.) aimed at defining a protocol, realizing a prototype and conducting experiments regarding biometric continuous authentication mechanisms.
